Palanzo, the Breathtaking View

Il Sole 24 Ore writes: “In villages, tourism is slow and conscious.”

Over the years, we have increasingly promoted and seen great interest in tourism focused on small villages—places that keep their cultural heritage alive, where interaction with the local community has become an essential part of the travel experience.

We cannot help but mention Palanzo, a charming hamlet perched at about 600 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest villages on Lake Como and certainly one of the richest in history and traces of past life and work. Built around an ancient settlement, the village preserves its medieval structure, with stone alleys, remnants of an old castle, and historic churches.

Palanzo offers a deep connection with nature through agriculture and livestock farming. One of its most remarkable symbols is a gigantic 16th-century wine press, a true historical gem worth visiting.
